
Department store chain Shoppers Stop has expanded its retail presence in northeast India with the opening of its first store in the city of Agartala in Tripura. The store retails over 500 international, national, and private labels spread across multiple categories such as fashion, beauty, home decor and lifestyle.
Shoppers Stop claims that the new store will contribute to the local economy of Tripura by providing direct and indirect employment opportunities.
Commenting on the expansion, Kavindra Mishra, executive director and CEO of Shoppers Stop Limited in a statement said, “Northeast continues to be an important market for us. In line with the brands’ purpose of inspiring India to look good and feel confident and in line with our expansion strategy in the Northeast of India, we are pleased to launch our first store in the enchanting city of Agartala.”
