
Shopify, the Canadian platform for developing and maintaining e-commerce platforms had a 26 per cent increase in revenue, reaching US $ 7.1 billion, while profits increased by 28 per cent to US $ 3.5 billion.
The sales volume of Shopify-managed e-commerce platforms climbed by 20 per cent during the year, reaching US $ 235 billion, representing a US $ 38.7 billion gain over the previous year, which saw just 12 per cent growth.
“2023 has been an extraordinary year for Shopify and our merchants,” said Harley Finkelstein, the company’s president. “Our robust fourth-quarter and annual results strongly demonstrate the progress we have made in building fast, reliable, and unified solutions for merchants of all sizes.”
“For 2024, we aim to capitalise on the momentum we achieved in 2023 and continue to deliver a solid combination of revenue growth and profitability,” stated Jeff Hoffmeister, the company’s CFO.
Shopify has several million clients in 175 countries, including well-known brands such as Supreme, Le Tanneur, and Balzac Paris, as well as large enterprises such as Mattel and Netflix. The business claims that its solutions account for 10 per cent of internet commerce in the United States.
