In honour of World Mental Health Day, Saks launched a special Saks Fifth Avenue-branded merchandise collection. This year marks a significant milestone as Saks pledges to donate a minimum of 50 per cent of the purchase price from every item in this collection to the Saks Fifth Avenue Foundation, furthering the Foundation’s critical mission to prioritise mental health. Additionally, Saks revealed the recipients of the Foundation’s annual grant program, injecting US $ 250,000 in support of local mental health non-profits.
Marc Metrick, the CEO of Saks and Vice President of the Saks Fifth Avenue Foundation Board, emphasised their enduring commitment to championing mental health as a fundamental concern in all communities. He stressed that their local mental health program grants initiative allows substantial investments in grassroots non-profits nationwide, making a profound difference. Through the introduction of the branded merchandise collection, Saks extends an invitation to its customers to contribute to the Foundation’s remarkable initiatives.
The grant beneficiaries include local nonprofits dedicated to serving diverse communities, encompassing racial and ethnic diversity, women, youth, low-income groups, and the LGBTQ+ community. Notable organisations among the ten grantees include Black Mental Health Village, The Bowery Mission, Centro Sanar, and New York Urban League, among others.
The merchandise collection comprises premium wool and cashmere hats, gloves, blankets, 100per cent cotton tees, fleece-lined hoodies, and sleepwear, all meticulously crafted in Italy and adorned with the iconic Saks Fifth Avenue logo. This exclusive collection is available solely on Saks.com, offering inclusive apparel sizing ranging from XS-XXXL. With a substantial portion of each purchase contributing to the Saks Fifth Avenue Foundation, patrons directly support both national and local nonprofit partners, amplifying the Foundation’s impactful endeavors.
