Flipkart, India’s leading ecommerce player, introduces ‘Saathi’ – a smart assistive interface feature that will support the new online users with their shopping decisions.
The idea is to empower Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities and rural area customers, as it decides to onboard the next 200 million consumers online.
The feature for now is available in Hindi and English language.
The audio-guided technology is designed with an almost real-life shopping experience for those consumers who are comfortable being assisted by a sales person.
It guides the new users through text and audio-based instruction to help them ease out the online shopping experience.
Besides, it also gives instruction through a pop-up text that is followed by audio which is easily understandable.
According to the industry research, almost nine-tenths of the new internet users in India are native language speakers and hence it is necessary for the brands and retailers to offer support in their native language.
Using this technology, the customers can witness all relevant information and do product surfing in Hindi language.
The Hindi language user base is expected to outgrow English in India by 2021.
