All shops, including that of apparels and fashion accessories, will now be able to trade for 24 hours in December and January.
More on this, Robert Jenrick, Communities Secretary, said that relaxation in trading hours has been given so that retailers can recoup the business they lost due to pandemic and subsequent lockdown.
The Secretary said that the decision will help in convenient and safe shopping for people, with less pressure on public transport.
Normally retailers have to apply to councils if they wish to extend beyond 9 AM to 7 PM hours.
Expressing delight over the decision of extending trading hours, Primark has said that it has everything for its customers this season, which includes Christmas Jumpers, festive pyjamas and many more.
Primark, which has already said that it will keep its MetroCentre open 24X7 in December, was one of the first fashion retailers to have strongly called for extension of trading hours after the lockdown.
