Specialty outdoor retailer REI Co-op announced on Wednesday plans to open 10 new stores in 2024.
REI will be extending its reach to Beaverton, Oregon, and Beavercreek, Ohio, in the upcoming spring. The co-op plans to launch in Rancho Mirage, California; Ithaca, New York; and Glendale, Arizona, as summer draws near. In Albany, New York, and Tulsa, Oklahoma, new stores will open in anticipation of the fall season.
Although the specifics of three more store openings in 2024 are still unknown, REI has already set its sights on 2025, planning to open in the spring in Durango, Colorado, and the autumn in St. George, Utah.
It is anticipated that every location will offer a wide range of clothing, equipment, and knowledge pertaining to outdoor pursuits like cycling, running, hiking, climbing, and more.
“Each of these communities has an abundance of easily accessible natural places to play in addition to proximity to iconic national parks where REI currently guides active adventures,” said Mary-Farrell Tarbox, REI vice president of Stores.
