
Local retailers like Argos and Primark are the most well-known online fashion brands in the UK, according to a recent survey conducted by the data analytics platform Statista. Among study participants, 94 per cent of respondents were aware of the brands of Argos and Primark.
The UK is where Argos Ltd., which is owned by Sainsbury’s, a supermarket group, predominantly conducts business. Irish retailer Primark, on the other hand, has increased its market share in the US and several European nations.
Brand awareness in the study was 93 per cent for Marks & Spencer and 92 per cent for Next, with H&M and JD Sports coming in second and third, respectively. With 89 per cent, John Lewis came in second, while River Island came in first with 88 per cent. Interestingly, only 86 per cent of respondents from the UK recognised the Spanish brand Zara.
Among the brands in the lower half of the list are PrettyLittleThing (70 per cent) and Debenhams (85 per cent), ASOS (83 per cent), Very (82 per cent), Boohoo (81 per cent), SHEIN (80 per cent), and Temu (80 per cent). With a brand awareness of 51 per cent for M&M Direct (UK) and 40 per cent for Zalando (Germany), they are at the bottom of the list.
