Icelandic B Corp outerwear brand 66°North is ramping up its global expansion plans with the opening of a US headquarters in New York and the appointment of its first chief commercial officer as it looks to become the first truly global Icelandic brand.
Jeppe Møller, 66°North’s chief commercial officer, will start in January, the company announced in a statement. He headed up all worldwide markets revenue channels, including merchandising, at Ganni, where he played a key role in propelling the Danish brand’s growth and expansion.
Møller, who has been a consultant for the brand for the past year, will assume the position full-time, based in Copenhagen, and will collaborate closely with the company’s headquarters in Reykjavik, Iceland, to establish a new satellite head office there.
Commenting on the appointment, Helgi Oskarsson, chief executive at 66°North, said, “Jeppe has been working with us to sharpen our strategic focus for the coming years, and I am excited to have him now on board full-time to execute that strategy.”
Møller, added, “I’m honoured and beyond excited to be allowed into the legacy of 66°North, and the mystery of Iceland.”
Furthermore, 66°North is adding two new members to its international wholesale team. Justin Warren, who was most recently Parajumpers’ vice president of North America, has joined the business as director of sales for North America.
In addition to supporting the expansion of e-commerce and retail channels in the US, he will be in charge of the brand’s New York City office and the market’s strategic wholesale launch.
Additionally, as the new head of sales EMEA, Mike Massoulier Eriksen will support the 66°North team in its Copenhagen headquarters and report to Daníel Jónsson, the global wholesale director of the brand. Eriksen, who was previously Wood Wood’s head of buying, will take the lead in creating the brand’s sales strategy, spotting new business prospects, and welcoming new clients into his areas.
