Revival of Europe is an issue of deliberation these days and everyone has their own experience and opinion on how the market is moving, while there are buying houses, which have felt the negative impact of the slowdown, there are some others adding new buyers and increasing their focus in Europe. Gurgaon-based 12 years old Orange Fashion Designs doing Europe from day one, recently added 5 new buyers to its portfolio; out of these three buyers are from Italy and two from France, and all of them are chain stores. Vibhu Sehgal, Director of the company is very upbeat of the stimulating business in Europe. “It is good that Europe is reviving, we tried some other markets like Japan and did some business also but it could not work out very well as margins were less there. However, as we were already in Europe, adding new buyers from Italy and France was comparatively more fruitful for us. Germany is another market which we are targeting. Though year on year we are achieving 10 per cent growth even in this slow market, but it will take time to achieve that growth which was there few years ago,” said Vibhu in conversation with Apparel Online.
Working with 12 vendors of Delhi-NCR, Vibhu is encouraging his vendors to enhance the capacities rather than adding new vendors for his fresh buying needs. With the approach of European fashion with Indian look, the buying house is continuously trying to fill the gap by offering whatever their buyers are asking for. Currently the buying office is using various new jacquards and blends in fabrics to attract buyers. The company has buyers like Monopricks and Kookai (France) in Europe and Hogger Clothing Co in the US.
