The North Face, the renowned outdoor retailer from the USA, is set to launch its inaugural store in Manchester city. Spanning 3,630 square feet, this retail outlet will be located at the Manchester Arndale shopping center and is scheduled to open later this year. The brand has secured a 10-year lease for a unit on New Cannon Street. The North Face already operates a store in Trafford Center, in the nearby Trafford Park area of Stretford.
Head of European Retail Asset Management for Global Mutual (in partnership with M&G Real Estate), Steve Gray, expressed his delight over this long-term lease at Manchester Arndale. He stated that this addition of a well-known brand to the tenant line-up is undoubtedly a positive development for the shopping center.
Gray further highlighted the dynamic leasing efforts undertaken since the pandemic. This strategy aims to cater to the diverse preferences of visitors and enhance the overall experience at the shopping center. This approach has led to a consistent increase in footfall, strong demand for strategically located units, and nearly full occupancy.
Furthermore, by the end of this year, Manchester anticipates the addition of several other renowned brands such as Nike, Moss, and Sports Direct, further enhancing the center’s fashion offerings and pushing retail occupancy to approximately 95 per cent.
