Since “select” Ted Baker establishments in the US and Canada have started to discontinue clearance sales, it is evident that North America is not immune to the Ted Baker scandal that is still plaguing the UK and Europe.
The announcement was made by Ted Baker Limited in the US, Lucky Brand in Canada, Brooks Brothers in Canada, and Ted Baker Canada, which manages Ted Baker’s business operations in that nation.
It follows the late-month filing for bankruptcy by the owners of Ted Baker retail locations in the US and Canada. Court records obtained by the Wall Street Journal two weeks ago claimed that partners of Authentic Brands Group, the company that owns Ted Baker, had ceased paying the label’s suppliers, leading to order cancellations and delivery delays.
The company announced that all of its Ted Baker locations in the US and Canada are giving discounts of up to 30 per cent off original prices on the entire line of men’s and women’s clothing and accessories, despite the press release mentioning the closure of “select” outlets. This includes the nine outlets in Canada and all 31 retail locations in the US.
