Myntra, the Indian fashion e-commerce platform, is gearing up to initiate operations in Singapore, according to sources. This move represents Myntra’s first step beyond the Indian market as part of an expansive approach to set up a global presence.
Having established a robust position in India’s fashion market, the company is set to officially launch in Singapore in the coming weeks. The primary focus will be on Indian ethnic wear, alongside additional popular categories.
Insiders disclosed that Myntra has already realised promising demand from customers in Singapore, particularly for Indian ethnic apparel, making the city-state a natural location for its global debut.
Myntra will join a select group of Indian new-age e-commerce players to operate internationally, marking a noteworthy milestone in the country’s digital retail landscape.
At present, Myntra leads India’s fashion e-commerce segment, principally in combination with Flipkart Fashion, also owned by Walmart. Together, they hold over 50 percent of the market, considerably outpacing competitors such as Ajio, Nykaa Fashion, Amazon, and Meesho. Both platforms operate under the leadership of Nandita Sinha, CEO of Myntra and Flipkart Fashion.
