Marks & Spencer has launched its first dedicated resale service on eBay, enabling customers to trade in pre-loved clothing, footwear and accessories via an official M&S x eBay store.
The initiative is powered by resale partner Reskinned and combines eBay’s online reach with expertise in garment repair, resale and recycling. The move forms part of M&S’s Another Life programme, which supports its broader Plan A sustainability strategy across fashion, home and beauty.
Unlike the retailer’s existing in-store clothing recycling scheme, the new platform also accepts rewearable items such as footwear, handbags, belts, hats and scarves. Customers can complete a short form on the M&S website or scan QR codes in stores to send pre-loved items free of charge through courier services to Reskinned.
Any return including at least one M&S-labelled product qualifies for a voucher worth about US $ 6.40 towards a minimum US $ 44.90 spend on fashion, home or beauty at M&S.com. Items suitable for resale are cleaned, repaired and listed on the M&S x eBay store, while goods that cannot be resold are responsibly recycled.
Products collected through M&S’s existing in-store recycling programme will now also be resold on eBay, with 15% of profits pledged to Oxfam.
Monique Leewenburgh, M&S director of sourcing and technology in fashion, home and beauty, stated that the retailer remained committed to helping customers make sustainable choices and reducing textile waste. She said the partnership with eBay and Reskinned would not only create more opportunities for items to find a second life but also allow customers to purchase pre-loved products from previous seasons.
