Levi Strauss & Co. has appointed Jeffrey J. Jones II as a member of its board of directors, with effect from 21st January 2026, as the apparel group continues to advance its transformation into a direct-to-consumer (DTC)-led business.
Upon joining the board, Jones will serve on both the nominating, governance and corporate citizenship committee and the compensation and human capital committee. The appointment follows his planned retirement from H&R Block, Inc., where he has served as president, chief executive and director since 2017. He is set to step down from that role on 31st December 2025.
Jones brings more than three decades of leadership experience across five industries. His previous senior roles include president of ride sharing at Uber Technologies and executive vice-president and chief marketing officer at Target Corporation. His career has been closely associated with brand building, digital transformation and enhancing customer experience.
Bob Eckert, chair of the board at Levi Strauss & Co., said Jones’s track record in driving organisational change would be instrumental as the company continues to evolve. He said Jones had repeatedly strengthened brands and organisations across multiple sectors and that his leadership would be critical as the company develops into a best-in-class, DTC-first retailer.
Jones said he was drawn to the company’s nearly 175-year heritage and its ambition for the future, noting the brand’s focus on building deeper connections with consumers. A graduate of the University of Dayton and a member of the Council for Inclusive Capitalism, he brings expertise in consumer insight and stakeholder value that LS&Co. plans to leverage as it enters its next phase of growth in the global retail market.
