French sneaker player Courir has officially been acquired by JD Sports Fashion.
In a statement, the business stated that the US $ 546.67 million purchase price would be covered by a drawing from its revolving credit facility as well as current cash. Courir reported US $ 763.03 million in revenue and US $ 52.88 million in profit before interest and taxes for the year ending 31st December 2023.
Currently, Courir operates 323 stores with banners indicating that they are located in France, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, Portugal, and Luxembourg. Furthermore, 36 additional stores operate under franchise agreements in French overseas territories, the Middle East, and North West Africa. Additionally, there are three shops that sell women’s trainers under the upscale Naked concept.
“Our Complementary Concepts strategy in Europe has reached an exciting milestone with the completion of our acquisition of Courir, and we are eager to collaborate with its seasoned management team as we carry out our expansion goals,” said Régis Schultz, CEO of JD Sports Fashion, in response to the news.
The business also stated that during the first quarter of FY ’26, all six of Courir’s stores in Portugal and 15 of its stores in France will be sold to Snipes in compliance with the European Commission’s conditional clearance ruling. Until they are sold to Snipes, the stores will remain run under the Courir name.
JD added that the group is eager to collaborate with Pierre Chambaudrie, CEO of Courir, and his staff in order to advance Courir’s development in Europe.
