JCPenney, one of the US’ largest apparel and home furnishing retailers, has teamed up with singer-songwriter Lionel Richie for an exclusive home collection.
The new home assortment, designed by the Grammy Award-winner, will be available at select stores and jcpenny.com from this Fall.
Comforters, quilts, sheets, decorative pillows and bath towels will be offered under the musical legend’s namesake brand.
Richie’s role was vital in design and development of the entire range, which is available in various price ranges from US $ 129.99 for a queen comforter set, US $ 39.99 for two decorative pillows to US $ 24.99 for two Euro shams, the company maintained.
Lionel Richie Home is designed to coordinate with the bedding, bath and window products available from JCPenney Home, one of the company’s most popular private brands known for stylish, high-quality home goods at a great value.
The home retailer teamed up with Richie in order to be different among rivals and it is optimistic that new home collection will help it to note boost in its exclusive business. Before Richie, Penny partnered with Eva Longoria in 2015 for its home category.
Markedly, the home category for Penney represented 15 per cent of its merchandise mix at the end of fiscal 2017, compared with 13 per cent in 2016 and 12 per cent in 2015.
Last year, JCPenney launched Frank + Lulu, a whimsical new brand of bedding and decor for the kids to target the young mothers who search the Internet for fresh ideas and style suggestions for remodelling or prepping their child’s room.
