Brioni, the reputed high-end menswear label from Italy, is set to venture into womenswear segment.
It’s been a tough period for the Kering-owned brand, and the launch of womenswear begins with the first capsule collection for the Fall/Winter 2022-23 called La Donna.
It isn’t the first time the brand is trying its hands on this segment. Back in early 2000s, the brand had forayed into womenswear, but failing to get desired success, it was dumped in 2011.
Now the label has embarked on a new, completely different project that’s been prompted by requests from the label’s bespoke tailoring customers’ wives and partners.
So what’s new! A white suit, a turtleneck sweater under a cashmere coat, a shirt and satin evening trousers, matched with a dinner jacket mark some of Brioni’s new womenswear essentials.
Creative director Norbert Stumpfl has also created seven looks for the Spring/Summer 2023, which will be presented at the upcoming Milan Fashion Week.
The brand’s aim is to offer a range of models in the same couture style of Brioni’s menswear but in women’s sizes and fits, in a spirit of timeless beauty, sophisticated simplicity, unparalleled freedom and lightness, combined with top-notch fabrics and details.
Founded in 1945, Brioni is an Italian menswear luxury house based in Rome and specialised in sartorial ready-to-wear, leather goods, shoes, eyewear and fragrance, and provides a tailor-made service.
