
Gurugram (Haryana) has become the first Indian city to house a store of the newly launched ethnic wear brand Ancestry by Future Style Lab, the design studio of Future Group.
The first store of the brand was launched recently at Ambience Mall, Gurugram, near national capital New Delhi. The debut store is spread over an area of 1,200 square feet.
“The launch of the brand has happened after through market research, revealed Manjula Tiwari, the CEO of Future Style Lab. Ancestry has womenswear, menswear and homeware products to offer with an aim to target the millennial customers.
The retailer is aimed to offer complete wardrobe and lifestyle solutions for modern Indian consumers through Ancestry.
The brand is considering collaborations with several fashion designers for the launch of capsule collections and expansion in New Delhi is on the cards too. After that it will move to Mumbai for its physical presence.
In view of the booming e-commerce in India, the brand is also gearing up to launch its website which is under construction at this time, informed Tiwari.
Expansion across India and abroad is also something retailer is eyeing in the time to come.
Pre-launch research by the brand shows that ethnic wear market in India is estimated to reach Rs. 126,506 crores (approximately US $ 19 billion) by 2019 which propelled it to venture into this segment.
In addition to the brand launch, Future Group has also announced an investment of Rs. 350 crores in its fashion venture, ‘FBB’, to increase the current number of retail stores by adding 140 exclusive outlets in the next three years.
