Footasylum, the fashion streetwear and sportswear company, has opened a new flagship store at Atria Watford shopping centre and an over four times larger store at Birmingham Bullring, with a new upsized space at Fosse Park in Leicester set to open in November 2023.
With 35 employees, the new 6,000-square-foot Atria Watford store is part of the retailer’s ongoing store growth. Its design is based on the company’s flagship 20,000-square-foot Oxford Street store, which debuted in September.
Located on the ground floor of the shopping mall is the new 11,000-square-foot Birmingham Bullring store, which has replaced its old 2,500-square-foot location.
It creates a “mobile first customer journey that seamlessly connects Footasylum’s online and in-store offerings” by utilising cutting-edge digital capabilities. Since the relocation, the number of employees has doubled to 40 from the prior unit.
The next Footasylum location will open in time for Black Friday in November at Leicester’s Fosse Park, one of the largest out-of-town shopping complexes in Britain.
The company’s existing 4,000-square-foot, single-story facility at the location will be replaced by a 6,400-square-foot store that is stretched across two levels.
This year has seen the opening of several more Footasylum locations, including Westfield Stratford City and Lakeside Shopping Centre in Essex, both of which opened in September. Footasylum was acquired by Aurelius in August 2022, and the company views brick and mortar retail as “pivotal” to the expansion of the business.
Barry Bown, Executive Chairman and CEO of Footasylum, said, “2023 has been a transformational year for Footasylum, and these latest openings are further testament to our team’s amazing ability to deliver state of the art stores for our customers across the country.”
