In the news lately for alleged anomalies, the Managing Director and the Chairperson of the e-commerce entity Evaly, have been banned from travelling abroad.
As per media reports, Metropolitan Senior Special Judge KM Imrul Kayes, recently imposed this ban on the MD of the company Mohammad Rassel and his wife Shamima Nasrin, after Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed a petition in this regard.
The anti-corruption watchdog, reportedly, opened a probe into allegations of embezzlement and laundering of Taka 338.62 crore against Evaly even as according to ACC prosecutor, the commission made the plea to ban travelling by the Evaly officials suspecting the duo was planning to leave the country.
Meanwhile, speculations were rife, following reports of Evaly closing its office in Dhanmondi and abrupt closure of Evaly’s customer care services.
