By rehiring Michela Kalb, Christian Dior, the well-known French luxury fashion brand owned by the LVMH Group, is bolstering the teams led by Jonathan Anderson, its Creative Director. The Sardinian-born Italian previously made a name for herself as the Director of Women’s Ready-to-Wear at Dior for ten years in the mid-2000s before moving on to Louis Vuitton.
She is now the Director of Christian Dior’s baby, women’s shoes, women’s and men’s ready-to-wear and haute couture collections. The business said, “She will join the management committee in this capacity.”
On 1st October, the day Anderson’s first women’s ready-to-wear collection is unveiled at Paris Fashion Week, the ready-to-wear expert is scheduled to start her new position. As Anderson’s de facto right-hand lady, Michela will oversee all facets of the house’s collections, from production to sale.
“I’m thrilled that Michela and Dior will once more cross paths. In a statement released by Christian Dior, CEO Delphine Arnault stated, “I am confident that she will use her vision, understanding of the house and vast product knowledge to create ever-more-desirable collections in close coordination with the creative direction.”
Equipped with a business management degree from Bocconi University in Milan, Michela started her career in 1993 as the Manager of Women’s Ready-to-Wear purchasing at the Italian department store La Rinascente. Before moving to Paris, she worked for Prada for six years, rising from Assistant Merchandiser to Merchandising Manager for both Prada and Miu Miu.
She began her career with the LVMH Group in the French capital, first with Christian Dior from 2006 to 2017, and then at Louis Vuitton, where she remained Director of Women’s Ready-to-Wear.
