Burberry is expanding its store presence this year, with the latest opening in Hangzhou, China, following recent launches in Paris, Milan, and a pop-up at California’s South Coast Plaza mall.
The newest store is located in the Hubin Yintai In77 shopping mall near West Lake in Zhejiang Province. Standout features of the store include a staircase and facade crafted by local stonemasons, inspired by classic London architecture, reflecting Burberry’s British heritage. The interior showcases unique wooden sculptural tables by artist Casey McCafferty and rugs by British textile artist Tom Atton Moore, highlighting the brand’s commitment to supporting independent artists.
The store offers the latest Burberry Classics and the Summer 2024 collections by Chief Creative Officer Daniel Lee. Additionally, it provides a wide range of menswear, womenswear, shoes, and accessories, including the Rocking Horse bag, which is central to the brand’s strategy to boost high-margin accessories sales.
Burberry is aiming for a rebound in the crucial Asian market, and new stores are key to achieving this goal. To further strengthen its presence in China, Burberry recently appointed award-winning actress Tang Wei as its latest brand ambassador, joining its roster of high-profile celebrities.
