Experiential retail start-up Broadway India has appointed Sankalp Kathuria as Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer to steer its next phase of growth and expansion. Kathuria, an alumnus of Kellogg School of Management and BITS Pilani, previously served as Senior Vice President at Zomato, where he led the dining business across India and the UAE. He has also worked with Bain & Company. He assumes leadership as Vivek Biyani transitions into the role of investor and chairman of the board.
Kathuria said he was eager to leverage his experience in building online businesses to reimagine physical retail, creating spaces where consumers could discover, connect with, and engage deeply with new-age brands.
Broadway India, which currently operates flagship outlets in Delhi and Hyderabad, is preparing to expand to Pune and Mumbai with its technology-enabled retail format that houses digital-first brands in immersive offline environments.
Broadway India positions itself as a next-generation experiential retail platform, designed to bridge the gap between online-first brands and offline discovery. Its stores curate a diverse mix of product categories including fashion and apparel, beauty, lifestyle, consumer electronics, and home essentials.
