The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), a prestigious trade body, is coming up with its e-commerce marketplace ‘Bharat eMart’ over the next few months.
CAIT aims to take on leading e-commerce giants. Around 8 crore traders represented by around 40,000 trade associations under CAIT are expected to benefit from this initiative.
The body said that the marketplace will help traders across the country set up their e-shops on the portal.
It is worth mentioning here that earlier CAIT had plans to launch the marketplace in May 2020 but it was postponed due to Covid-19.
BC Bhartia National President and Praveen Khandelwal, General Secretary of CAIT said, “CAIT will launch a national campaign from November 15 for traders to create awareness about digital payments and technology for business growth. This includes setting up of e-shop on e-commerce, adopting digital payments in place of cash, using computer technology in business, timely payment of taxes, good behaviour with the customer, converting shops into showrooms, better product display and strengthening local trade associations.”
