As many as six e-commerce websites have been ordered to shut down by the Bangladesh Government for operating illegal online multi-level marketing (MLM) businesses.
Reports claimed this adding the decision to this end was taken at a meeting under the chairmanship of Additional Commerce Secretary and Director General of the WTO Cell at the Commerce Ministry Md Hafizur Rahman, in which was also, reportedly, present the General Secretary of E-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (E-Cab), Abdul Waheed Tamal.
The six e-commerce entities in question here, whose websites have been shut by the Government, are namely Green Bangla E-Commerce Ltd., Tholay, Glitters RST World, Excellent World Agro Food and Cosmetics Ltd., Annex Worldwide Ltd and Alif World.
