Taking his entrepreneurial goal to the next level, Yoga guru Baba Ramdev has plunged himself into the lucrative apparel segment by launching ‘Patanjali Paridhan’ in Haridwar on Saturday.
Baba Ramdev and Patanjali Managing Director and Co-founder Acharya Balkrishna inaugurated the store on the occasion of the 24th foundation day of Patanjali.
Opened inside Patanjali Yogapeeth Phase 1, the store offers apparel for men, women and children under the brands Livefit, Aastha and Sanskar. Patanjali Paridhan also offers denim and casual wear besides ethnic and formals. Patanjali’s fashion arm promises to offer around 3,600 products.
“For making these garments, we have followed the best parameters, including all kinds of herbs and medicinal plants. Patanjali’s foray into the textile sector is intended to revive the textile industry and provide work to the weaver. – Baba Ramdev, Founder, Patanjali Paridhan
Last year in November, Ramdev inaugurated Patanjali’s apparel store in the national capital. The store located in Delhi’s Netaji Subhash Place is touted to be an exclusive one-stop solution showroom of garments.
“Like Khadi led to freedom struggle of the country, the Patanjali Paridhan will be the carrier of new revolution of economic independence in the country because clothing is not just a commodity, it’s statement of our self-respect, pride personality and identity which can never be compromised in life,” the company mentioned earlier.
Ramdev announced the clothing line in 2016. The clothing brand Paridhan will be manufacturing in-house products, the company’s MD commented last year.
Delhi was the first store inaugurated in November, followed by Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Aurangabad and Meerut. The store in Haridwar is the sixth in the country.
The apparel brand is also offering 25% discount on all items till Makar Sankranti. By 2020, it intends to open 500 exclusive brand outlets in all over India.
