Valentino turns to Asia for new CEO for North America

East is meeting West at Valentino, which has appointed Asia-based Gianfranco Ditadi as the new Chief Executive Officer for Valentino North America. As per the market sources, Ditadi, who is presently the regional manager of Tod’s for the China division, will be joining his position as the President and CEO after a month from now.

Ditadi’s expertise in the fashion industry, seeing his previous roles at the senior management level for renowned names such as Ralph Lauren and Prada Group in Asia, will be an asset to the luxury giant He will succeed Sandra Jovicic for the role who had exited the company in September.

Mayhoola, a Qatar-based investment vehicle backed by a private investor group, controls the wheels for Valentino since acquiring it in 2012. Pierpaolo Piccioli  is the head designer for the brand while Stefano Stassi is the CEO of the brand. For its global operations and expansion, Ex-CEO of Marc Jacobs International Sebastian Suhl assumed the position of managing director of global markets in November 2017.
