Baazar Style Retail posted a consolidated net loss of Rs. 6.39 crore (US $ 746,000) in Q4 FY25, weighed down by rising costs despite solid revenue growth. The company’s operational revenue rose sharply by 55 per cent YoY to Rs. 345.4 crore (US $ 40.35 million) in the fourth quarter, with gross profit jumping 59 per cent YoY to Rs. 114.3 crore (US $ 13.35 million), indicating strong underlying sales performance.
Baazar Style Retail’s operating performance was better, with EBITDA up 69 per cent YoY to Rs. 39.9 crore (US $ 4.66 million) and margins up 1,000 basis points to 11.6 per cent in the fourth quarter of FY25. But an increase in costs took a toll on profitability.
Rising finance and depreciation costs also strain the bottom line. Finance charges rose 56 per cent to Rs. 217 crore (US $ 25.35 million), while depreciation and amortization charges rose 49 percent to Rs. 29.4 crore (US $ 3.43 million) in Q4 FY25. Consequently, the company reported a widened pre-tax loss of Rs. 9.4 crore (US $ 1.1 million), up from Rs. 8.8 crore (US $ 1.03 million) in the same quarter last year.
For FY25 as a whole, the business posted a net profit of Rs. 14.66 crore (US $ 1.71 million), down 33 per cent YoY, albeit on a 38 per cent YoY rise in top line revenue to Rs. 1,343.7 crore (US $ 157 million).
