Baazar Style Retail reported a 6% year-on-year increase in revenue from operations to Rs 964.5 crore (US $99.87 million) in H1 FY27, despite a shift in the festive calendar that moved Durga Puja demand from Q2 FY26 to Q3 FY27.
Revenue from operations in Q2 FY27 declined 10% year-on-year to Rs 478.1 crore (US $49.51 million). Same-store sales growth stood at -25% in Q2 and -11% in H1, while sales per square foot declined to Rs 642 (US $6.65) per month in Q2 from Rs 865 (US $8.96) in the year-ago quarter. In H1, sales per square foot stood at Rs 660 (US $6.83) per month, compared with Rs 768 (US $7.95) a year earlier.
The company expanded its retail network to 283 stores as of September 30, up 13% year-on-year. It added 14 stores and closed seven during Q2, while total rental area increased 16% to 26.69 lakh sq ft.
According to the company, it continued to invest in consumer engagement and operating capabilities during the quarter.
The company also entered into a sports-led brand association as principal partner for India’s international football matches against Brazil and Uruguay in Kolkata.
The retailer said it remains focused on expanding its value-fashion retail network while improving store productivity and operating efficiency.
