Aussiebum, an Australian clothes, swimwear and innerwear business, intends to open a garment production plant in India to serve the domestic and foreign markets and increase its market share in the nation.
According to reports, Aussiebum is an online retailer in India with a goal of gaining 3 per cent to 5 per cent of the inner wear market there by 2026. The business hopes to build stronger ties with its Indian clientele by setting up manufacturing operations there. As of right now, the brand has production plants in Bangladesh, China, Vietnam, and Thailand.
“This localised production will create employment opportunities while enabling Aussiebum to seamlessly blend Indian talent and resources into its design and innovation process,” said Aussiebum’s CEO and founder Sean Ashby.
According to its website, Sean Ashby founded Aussiebum in 1999 as a swimsuit company. In 2017, the company was recognised with the Australian Export Award for e-commerce. Since then, the company has increased the range of products it offers. In October of last year, it made its debut in India with the goal of taking advantage of the developing inner wear market there.
