International technology group ANDRITZ has achieved a successful start-up of its newly delivered carding machine and opening/blending line at Albis in Roasio, Vercelli, Italy.
This strategic investment marks a milestone for Albis in meeting evolving demands and pioneering innovative nonwoven products for hygiene and medical applications
Boasting an expansive working width of 5.10 metres, the machine enables the production of tailored nonwoven fabrics, ensuring exceptional properties and consistent quality. Albis Curacell®, a multilayer composite nonwoven fabric in the weight range of 35 to 70 gsm, stands as an example.
It is produced using a patented, water-free process and can absorb liquid flows exceeding seven times its weight. Additionally, the production line features an advanced upstream opening and blending system, both provided by ANDRITZ.
Albis CEO Gianni Boscolo said, “ANDRITZ has both the expertise and innovativeness we are looking for in a partner to realize our vision. The reliability of their machinery was another important factor in our decision to partner with them. Our new installation will help us meet our clients’ demands and enable us to continue creating nonwoven products that set new standards in the hygiene and medical sectors.”
