
The fourth quarter has been fruitful for the American clothing retailer HanesBrands!
The fashion retailer saw its Q4 net sales jump by 4 per cent to US $ 1.75 billion, with its Champion brand witnessing 10 per cent rise in its global sales.
Compared to Q4 of 2019, HanesBrands’ net sales from continuing operations rose by 15 per cent to US $ 230 million. This also includes 25 per cent rise in global sales of Champion brand.
The GAAP operating profit was US $ 156 million, while it posted an operating loss of US $ 397 million a year back. The retailer had, notably, made an operating profit of US $ 230 million in the fourth-quarter of 2019.
The adjusted operating profit of US $ 220 million slumped by US $ 9 million or 4 per cent when compared to the year before.
Segment-wise, HanesBrands’ innerwear sales rose by 3 per cent over last year, excluding PPE, driven by point-of-sale growth across channels, while the activewear sales increased by US $ 46 million or 11 per cent over the previous year.
Moving forward, for Q1 of 2022, the company expects net sales from continuing operations of around US $ 1.51 billion to US $ 1.57 billion.
