Leading e-commerce retailer Amazon India has launched a new programme ‘Select’ to help its brands enhance their sales. The e-retailer eyes to form long-term relationships with brands selling on its platform through the programme besides offering aid to the budding labels across services.
Amazon recently went past ‘the four lakh sellers’ mark on its platform and is currently competing for the top spot in India’s e-commerce market against Flipkart, which leads the way in e-commerce sector in the country.
Gopal Pillai, Director and General Manager, Amazon India was quoted as saying by the media, “We have been piloting ‘Select’ over the last few months and have worked with over 100 brands. We have helped them get access to a collection of brand building tools and services spanning across discovery, customer insights, brand consulting inputs, and improved brand protection services. The main focus of the ‘Select’ initiative is launched to help them create measurable value for their business on Amazon and support them in attaining their business goals.”
The American e-retailer is working with fashion labels such as Miss Chase, Soul Fit, Skin Elements, Zink London and others under its ‘Select’ initiative.
Furthermore, to counter Flipkart’s Big Billion Days’ sale ahead of the upcoming festive season, Amazon too will be hosting its own 6-day-long ‘Great Indian Festival’ sale offering unmatched deals on fashion and all of its other offerings.
