Amazon India’s Great Indian Festival 2026 recorded a 100% year-on-year increase in the number of products ordered during its opening 12 hours, with orders placed from every pin code in the country, according to the company.
The company also reported increased participation from customers in metropolitan areas and smaller towns. Millions of orders were delivered within hours, while in more than 120 cities served by Amazon Now, one in every two products was delivered within minutes.
Payment offers and affordability options also contributed to customer participation. One in every two customers used equated monthly instalments (EMIs), while one in every three units purchased received cashback benefits.
Amazon said Prime members recorded savings of more than 100% compared with the corresponding period last year, supported by member-exclusive offers.
The opening figures indicate strong initial demand during the festive shopping season. Sales performance over the coming weeks will provide a clearer picture of whether the increase in order volumes is sustained across product categories and sellers.
