The board of the IPO-bound e-commerce business Meesho has authorised renaming its Indian entity, Fashnear Technologies Pvt Ltd., to Meesho Pvt Ltd., according to regulatory filings submitted to the Registrar of Companies.
The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has been asked to approve the company’s name change. The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) has already received an application for the flip from the Bengaluru-based business.
Meesho Pvt Ltd., the renamed firm, will become the parent company of the e-commerce marketplace after the redomiciling process is finished.
Any discrepancy in public perception will be eliminated by the proposed name change, which guarantees complete alignment between the corporate and brand identities. This will improve overall business posture, stakeholder trust, and brand recall, the corporation stated in its RoC filing.
Prior to Meesho, a number of other businesses renamed their corporate organisations to better represent their branding. Among these are Swiggy, which rebranded from Bundl Technologies prior to its initial public offering (IPO); Urban Company, which rebranded from its previous brand name, Urbanclap Technologies; and Shiprocket, formerly known as Bigfoot Retail. The Indian parent firm of the fast commerce startup Zepto most recently rebranded from Kiranakart Technologies to Zepto Pvt Ltd.
