A Skating Monk, a streetwear-inspired company owned by Aero Group, intends to grow abroad in nations including Hong Kong, South Africa, and Canada. As it continues to enter the Indian market, the company also intends to create additional pop-up stores.
Aero Group also runs outdoors-themed footwear and lifestyle brand Woodland. Collaboration between A Skating Monk and Woodland is intended to attract clients from new demographics, with a particular emphasis on Gen Z consumers who are interested in fashion and youth culture.
Currently, A Skating Monk sells merchandise through pop-ups in 60 Woodland stores in Tier-1 and Tier-2 Indian cities. According to CEO Gagandeep Singh, the company intends to build comparable pop-up shops in nations where Woodland has a retail presence as part of its international development. The company hopes to reach annual sales of Rs. 10 crore, and it anticipates that worldwide growth would help it achieve this goal.
As a direct-to-consumer company, A Skating Monk first established itself in locations like Kolkata, Jaipur, and Delhi. A Skating Monk now claims Bombay, Kochi, and Kolkata as its key markets, and has done so for the past year, replacing Chandigarh as its greatest market.
“A Skating Monk has a different target audience of 16-25-year-olds, but they get the same qualitative assurance of Woodland,” said Singh.
