While fast fashion continues to be still popular, it is heartening to see consumers these days move more towards ethical and sustainable wardrobes.
At least that’s what the recent data by money.co.uk reveals!
The data distinctly highlighted the comeback of fashionable items from the past, besides telling which era has been dominating the fashion resale scene.
In fact, the most valuable fashion era in women’s clothing (on the resale sites), as per the data, is the 1920s. Buying a full wardrobe from this period could set you back an average of US $ 318.
Notably, the most expensive clothing category from the 1920s is jackets and coats, priced at US $ 149 on average.
Here it is worth stating that jackets and coats have been the most expensive clothing category from 1920s to 1980s, except 1930s. In 1930s, dresses were the most expensive.
1930s and 1940s are second and third most valuable fashion decades with average total wardrobe price of US $ 304 and US $ 206, respectively.
The most expensive clothing category in 1930s (dresses) averaged US $ 129 on resale sites, while the same in 1940s (jackets and coats) averaged US $ 85 on resale sites.
More on this, Salman Haqqi, Personal Finance Expert, money.co.uk, averred “Buying second-hand is a great way to practice sustainability in day-to-day life, as more often than not you can find one-of-a-kind items.”
