China has urged the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) for assistance in establishing a bonded warehouse in Bangladesh to hold essential chemicals and raw materials.
On the other hand, the BKMEA leaders also sought China’s cooperation in exchanging technical know-how and expertise.
In a proactive move, BNMEA Vice President Akhtar Hossain Apurba, on behalf of BKMEA President AKM Salim Osman, proposed joint ventures with China spanning bonded warehouses, factory operations, and the establishment of eco-friendly villages in Narayanganj’s Shanti Char area.
Fazle Shamim Ehsan, a different vice president of the BKMEA, emphasised the knitwear industry’s emphasis on technological developments and invited the Chinese delegation to establish factories in Bangladesh furnished with the newest innovations linked to the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
Additionally a vice president of the BKMEA, Mohammad Rashed emphasised the importance of bonded warehouses and technological cooperation between the two nations, expressing confidence in bolstering Bangladesh’s and China’s standing as top exporters of apparel.
During the BKMEA’s bilateral meeting with a delegation of leaders and representatives from 36 Chinese institutions and organisations on Monday, the subjects were covered.
The delegation was led by the Chinese Enterprises Association in Bangladesh (CEAB).
