The Swiss company Livinguard Technologies AG recently launched the Livinguard Better Fresh to address the issue of microfibre shedding in the textile industry. With this launch, the company also stated that a number of in-house trials and testings with independent laboratories have been conducted on their latest technology.
The company also revealed that their solution cuts down fibre fragmentation by up to 80% and also provides odour control. As far as shedding is concerned, the technology binds itself to the treated fabric so that the chemical and microfibre discharge is minimised.
In this regard, R&D Manager at Livinguard Technologies AG, Dr. Alok Goel stated that while this is not the perfect solution, it still makes a meaningful contribution to reducing microfibre shedding, a problem that industry players are continually combating.
Apart from resolving shedding and odour issues pertaining to the textile industry, Livinguard Technologies AG also designed their innovation in a way that it can be deployed seamlessly on the existing equipment. From an industry perspective, the company revealed that it is a cost-effective solution leading to tangible results and from consumer’s point of view, Livinguard Technologies AG said that their technology can help increase the product longevity and reduce the impact on recycling of the treated clothes.
Speaking on its cost-benefits, the head of Textiles at Livinguard Technologies AG, Jan Hilger said that it is a commercially viable approach that will help the textile industry resolve the problem more proactively without breaking the bank.
