Vibhor Jain has been appointed as the Acting CEO of the state-backed Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) with immediate effect. This comes after T. Koshy, ONDC’s original MD and CEO, recently left the company as part of a larger leadership change. Jain will now take on full executive responsibility.
Jain is currently the COO and a member of ONDC’s eight-member Executive Committee. The executive committee’s interim function, which was established following Koshy’s departure, has officially ended with the nomination of Jain.
The Executive Committee has performed well in directing ONDC through a crucial stage of its development, said Suresh Sethi, a board member of ONDC, who added that having a single point of leadership is essential to ensuring coherent implementation of the many important strategic decisions currently under progress.
According to Jain’s response to his appointment, it was a pleasure to assume this role at a time when ONDC is growing its influence and presence throughout the nation. Over the course of three years, the government-backed program has completed over 200 million transactions and operates in a variety of sectors, including the fashion sector.
