American clothing retailer Gap has launched its new sub-brand named GapStudio featuring designs by Gap’s creative director, Zac Posen and his NYC team, as per reports.
The new brand made its debut with a holiday themed collection that showcases a range of elevated basics. The collection has a maxi dress, a coated denim moto jacket in long length and cropped length, and a denim short dress.
Popular celebrities like Demi Moore, Emily Ratajkowski and Alton Mason were the face of the brand’s new launch campaigns.
Since Zac Posen joined Gap, the brand has undergone a remarkable transformation, regaining its cool and chic reputation. This strategic move is part of a broader trend, with high-fashion designers like Claire Waight Keller at Uniqlo and Olympia Gayot at J.Crew elevating the creative direction of mainstream brands. This shift signals a growing emphasis on quality and style in American fashion, mirroring international trends.
Gap’s Creative Director, before joining the American brand has designed and styled several celebrities, including Anne Hathaway in the iconic shirtdress designed by Posen which was a major hit, according to reports. The American brand has collaborated in movie franchises and studios like Star Wars, Disney, and Wicked and also with apparel brands like Palace, Cult Gaia, and Dôen.
Gap Inc. also owns Banana Republic, Old Navy and Athleta.
