In order to raise the standard of living and economic standing of weavers, the Central Government would work with different States, according to Union Minister of Textiles Giriraj Singh.
After a review meeting with departmental officials, which was presided over by Andhra Pradesh Textiles Minister S. Savitha and Commissioner (Textiles and Handlooms) Rekha Rani, Singh stated that efforts would be made to expand the market networking for the weavers’ products and supply them with competitive prices.
Singh also reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to addressing the weaving community’s healthcare and education needs. He stated that in this regard, the handloom would undoubtedly need to be given priority and shielded from the barrage of powerlooms.
The actions made to enhance production, improve the state of jute products, and enhance cotton yield and storage were described by Savitha to the Union Minister. In order to establish small textile clusters in Chirala, Mangalagiri, Venkatagiri, Mylavaram, and Yemmiganur, she asked the Centre to approve US $ 23.6 million.
