An exclusive seminar titled Scalable Technology Solution for Next Generation Fibres was held in Dhaka by SAS Enterprise, an Aziz Group subsidiary and the official representative of SPINNOVA® in Bangladesh.
The seminar featured prominent industry leaders, including Rajibul Huq Chowdhury, Managing Director of Aziz Group, who emphasised the importance of sustainable practices in the textile sector. A. Matin Chowdhury, Managing Director of New Asia Group, discussed the urgent need for sustainable production methods to meet global textile demand.
Dr. Shahriare Mahmood, Chief Product & Sustainability Officer at SPINNOVA®, presented the company’s patented technology that transforms wood pulp and waste into 100 per cent recyclable, biodegradable fibres without harmful chemicals. His insights highlighted the potential for SPINNOVA® fibres to reduce CO₂ emissions by 74 per cent compared to conventional materials.
Lasse Holopainen, Chief Revenue Officer at SPINNOVA®, elaborated on the scalability and versatility of the technology, which utilizes various feedstocks, including agricultural and tannery waste.
A panel discussion, moderated by Dr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Pro Vice Chancellor of BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology, addressed the role of sustainable fibre technologies in Bangladesh’s textile landscape. Industry leaders discussed the potential economic and environmental benefits of adopting SPINNOVA®’s innovations, particularly in establishing a circular economy.
The seminar concluded with a networking lunch, fostering collaboration and further discussions on integrating sustainability within the textile industry. This event marks a significant step toward redefining textile practices in Bangladesh through innovative, eco-friendly solutions.
