
Amit Mahajan has been named vice president of Fwd, the fashion discovery portal for Gen Z customers, by Flipkart-owned Myntra, persons familiar with the situationsaid.
Mahajan will assist the business in expanding Fwd’s product line and creating creative marketing strategies. He comes from PT Map Aktif Adiperkasa Tbk, an Indonesian sports, leisure, and children’s clothing retailer, where he served as assistant vice president (AVP) of merchandising.
The appointment is consistent with Myntra’s sales-boosting strategy of courting Gen Z customers, which is a tactic that other firms, especially those in the direct-to-consumer (D2C) market, are now implementing.
Fashion-forward digital natives make up 25% of the e-lifestyle market and contribute $4 billion to the e-lifestyle gross merchandise value (GMV), according to a joint analysis by Bain & Company and Myntra.
