Louis Vuitton has showcased a maritime-inspired capsule collection in honour of the 37th edition of the America’s Cup, set to begin in late August in Barcelona. This collection by Vuitton takes motivation from yachting themes, deep-sea gear, sporty themes, and the stress-free atmosphere of post-sailing cocktail hours.
Featuring three distinct themes, the unisex collection comprises “Riding the Waves” for technical apparel, “A Day on the Deck” for relaxed sportswear, and “Elegant Summer Evening” for after-sailing clothing.
The “Riding the Waves” selection provides shorts and technical windbreakers for skippers, waterproof canvas bags, and a water-resistant sailor sling for women in Monogram Storm. This lineup is balanced off by the LV Rush sneaker, a design by Louis Vuitton’s creative director Nicolas Ghesquière for the Cruise 2024 collection. For men, there are new Barracuda sneakers featuring a white design with a red and black V logo.
Set to hit stores on 18th July, the collection provides a variety of prices, from € 210 for a tie and € 670 for a bucket hat, to € 4,500 for a women’s cocktail dress and € 5,100 for a men’s blouson with 3D leather element. Largely themed in red, white, and blue, the collection effortlessly blends the America’s Cup logo with a graphic V, originally envisioned by Gaston-Louis Vuitton, the grandson of the brand’s founder.
Louis Vuitton has been a major sponsor of the America’s Cup for four decades, beginning in 1983, making it the oldest international sporting trophy. This year, Vuitton has taken its participation a step ahead by becoming a title partner of this esteemed competition.
