
Lids, which had entered Europe in late 2021, is now planning to open 20 standalone stores in Germany.
It all begins with the launch of three stores in Berlin followed by more stores in Hamburg, Bremen and Dresden, amongst others.
More on the launch, Britten Maughan, President, Lids, said that the US sportswear retailer has been – all these years – receiving requests to bring unparalleled assortment of its products to Germany. Notably, Germany has a huge headwear market.
Here one must add that Germany has a strong fashion accessory market too and a growing affinity for American sports, which perfectly fits into the core strengths of Lids’ product offering.
Lids todayruns nearly 1,200 stores all through the US, Canada, Puerto Rico, Mexico and England.Besides, it also operates through retail partnerships with Macy’s and Designer Brands.
It majorly focuses on apparel and caps from US sports, such as American football, basketball and baseball.
