Spanish apparel brand Desigual is all set to expand its e-commerce platform!
After recording a decent annual growth rate of 50 per cent in its e-commerce sales in 2020, the fashion brand is now planning to start a project wherein it will launch its website in as many as 108 countries. And all this by the end of this year!
The fashion brand has said that it will be introducing the website in all these 108 countries by installing cross-border technologies built with specialised platform Global-e.
As a part of the project, Desigual plans to integrate its franchised stores into its e-tail platform in countries like Mexico and Singapore, where it already has its presence.
Notably, the clothing brand had successfully launched its e-tail operations in Russia, Turkey and Hong Kong in 2020 – 2021 in all likelihood will see the brand expand its online business big.
The project begins this month with a pilot test, followed by expansion into other franchisees in March 2021.
The intent of the brand is to see its franchisees manage their own inventory and run business both physically and virtually – a necessity in this ‘new world’.
The e-commerce sales, importantly, constitute 30 per cent of Desigual’s total revenue; however, by 2023, the brand, reportedly, plans to generate 60 per cent of revenue by e-tail and markets away from Europe.
Founded in 1984, Desigual sells menswear, womenswear, childrenswear, fashion accessories and women’s shoes.
