Handsome, the renowned South Korean fashion label, will soon be launching its first apparel line that is designed with artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
The fashion house has formed an alliance with Designovel to develop new designs of apparels. Designovel is a startup that specialises in AI fashion technology.
The clothes are planned to be released under the SJYP brand.
Handsome, which is an affiliate of Hyundai Department Store Group, has dubbed its first product as ‘Dino Hood Tee’. The product has the prints of dinosaur and toy blocks that are designed by Designovel’s program, Style AI.
Notably, the South Korean fashion label has provided 3,30,000 images, including characters and logos, for making graphics.
Style AI uses a convolutional neural network, which is an image processing technology to modify patterns. The fashion firm also added that it will review whether the AI technology can be applied to other areas of its fashion business as well.
