Japan-based SHIMA SEIKI, a leading manufacturer of computerized flatbed knitting machinery, has unveiled Shima Trend Archive & Forecast (staf®) site, a web-based service ardent to empower its members with the means to search and download from a rich stock of information as well as tools to organize that information for assistance in fashion planning, design and presentation.
Fashion industry, moving at a fast pace, consistently updates its offerings, exerting enormous pressure on fashion planners and designers to present new ideas on regular basis, consequently leading to stress and other psychological issues. In order to alleviate this, SHIMA SEIKI is giving industry professionals an unprecedented opportunity to enhance their planning efficiency and capability with staf®. The web-based service features an information archive of fashion and color trends from past 50 years in addition to ideas for the next season.

In addition, a vast collection of fashion photos are available in collaboration with the Aflo photo agency, along with the access to the latest fashion-related news articles. staf® also enables the organization of information in a concept board which can later be shared among smart devices for presentation purposes.
Furthermore, staf® content can be imported, edited and processed on SHIMA SEIKI’s own “SDS-ONE APEX3” design system. The unveiling of staf® will take place at the upcoming Première Vision show in Paris, slated to be held from 13th-15th September.
