Lectra, a well-known IT solution provider for fashion and apparel industry, has unveiled a new version of its pattern making, grading and prototyping 2D/3D solution, Modaris V8R2.
The newly upgraded version of the software provides greater speed, productivity and precision in product development.
Encapsulated with tools such as 3D simulation and collaboration, the new software aims to help the pattern developers in completing their tasks faster and speeding up the decision-making process.
Also, it reduces the need to develop physical prototype iterations by almost 50 per cent and therefore saving the amount of time and cost that would have otherwise involved in it.
The files can be easily shared with the pattern developers and can be viewed on any device with a view of 360-degree, thus assisting the better visualisation of these patterns. Moreover, the designers can respond, see, comment and give approvals to the style using the new 3D style module.
The solution also has an expanded library and new features including fabrics, 3D to-stitching effects, realistic scenes, lightning studio, Pantone and Natural Colour System. Modaris V8R2 is compatible with Vizoo, a high-quality scanner that brings forth a heightened realism to the appearance of fabric swatches, and with other 3D solutions such as Maya, 3DS Max, Iray to make the digital renderings of the prototypes more true-to-life and accurate.
Moreover, the solution also includes a special dart feature that helps in easy adding of dimensions to the garment while the pattern development process happens. This process reduces the time consumption by half and increases almost 50 to 90 per cent of the pattern making speed.
Furthermore, with the new software system Lectra guarantees size compliance, regardless of the measurement system being used in the other countries where the production occurs.
“We are entering the information age, and we are catering to pattern makers who are dealing with consumers with different tastes, of all body shapes and sizes. Our pattern makers have hundreds of collections to deliver and no time to spare for errors. What we are aiming to do is to make their daily work environment easier by providing the tools to streamline the development process and reduce the number of reworks to achieve the right fit the first-time. All this is possible with Modaris V8R2,” said Céline Choussy, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, Lectra.
